Ko Mavidanthal Karumbayiram Aiyanar is a revered deity in the Tamil Nadu region, particularly in the village of Ko Mavidanthal. Aiyanar is known for his protective and benevolent nature, often worshipped as a guardian deity who ensures the well-being and prosperity for his devotees. The stories and legends surrounding Karumbayiram Aiyanar reflect his significance in local spiritual and cultural practices. There is a belief regarding the Komavidanthai sacred grove. Once, three sugarcane growers were driving a cartload of sugarcane through the grove. While they were passing the grove, the deity of the grove appeared as a small child and asked for a piece of sugarcane. The sugarcane growers refused to give a piece of sugarcane to the child. While they went to the sugar factory, they found that their sugarcane was all rotten and could not be used. They realised their mistake and came to the grove and constructed a shed by using 1000 sugarcane stems and performed a puja. Since then the deity came to be known as Karumbayiramkonda Aiyanar
